Not really, and frankly that doesn't matter. What matters is how they lead on the ice and they don't. Scoring a goal? Making a play? Doesn't make you a leader.

The avs trading Duchene is absolutely insane. You need top centres to compete in the west and having Dutchy and Mackinnon solidifies that.

B. Why on earth does Patrick Roy still have a job?

This is like at least the 3rd blog I've read where Ek seems very shocked at how poor the Flyers are this year. I'm not really sure why some are so surprised. This is a team that finished with the 7th worst record in the league last year, didn't really make any significant changes over the summer to improve. Sure they picked up Medvedev and a better backup goalie, but c'mon now, nothing major. They're still saddled with a ton of dead weight, a few highly paid underperforming players, no first pairing defensemen, and no true snipers besides Giroux. Oh and they have a rookie coach. Their best prospects are still a year or two away from the show. Why on earth would anyone think this team would not again be one of the 7 worst teams in the NHL which is the case. This team would be much better served to compete for the number one pick than to compete for the last playoff spot. If the franchise and those closest to it could get over themselves and their storied history, and just commtt to a full scale rebuild once in a while over the last 20 years, instead of always trying to retool, they'd probably have secured another franchise player or two and have won a cup.

The rumour came from Dater, its not happening, this is the same guy who published a Report saying Stastny is going to the Leafs at the deadline after favoriting a HockeyyInsidder tweet. Dater only knows how to be creepy on twiter, not how to cover the Avs
